16 CHANGING THE MANAGEMENT OF THE STATE-OWNED COMPANIES
The Bulgarian Minister of Transport, Information Technologies and Communications Danail Pa-pazov gave a special interview for LOGISTIKA magazine where he answers questions about the future of BDZ Holding (Holding Bulgarian State Railways), the new type of management in the state-owned companies, and the projects that will be financed by European funds.
"We made a plan and we put it for discussion, in order to choose the best option for the restructuring of BDZ Holding that should be approved by the creditors. There will be serious investments in the railway infrastructure in order to improve the speed of the trains. For the next programming period of EU funding that is to begin in 2014, we are preparing more projects than the expected funding, but we do it so that if there is any issue with one of the projects, we will be able to offer another instead", says Danail Papazov. The Minister also explicitly states: "Financing will be provided only for those transport projects which are considered of high priority by a consensus."
