BDZ creditors’ meeting scheduled for next week: CEO of BDZ Holding

Sofia. It is expected confirmation for the meeting of creditors of the Bulgarian State Railways (BDZ) which will take place next week, after which I would be able to comment much more. That is what Hristiyan Krastev, CEO of BDZ Holding said in an interview for FOCUS News Agency.
“During the recent years BDZ was in very tense relation with bank creditors. Since March this year dialog between BDZ and the banks was resumed and talks are in quite advanced stage,” Krastev specified.
“When I assumed the post I found BDZ Holding in quite unpleasant state. First of all, it was empty of content as activity. There was only a financial flow running through it, nothing more. Now there is a new structure so that the Holding to be able in the best way managing its subsidiaries – Passenger Services and Freight Services,” Hristiyan Krastev added.
In his words it is possible the Bulgarian State Runways to realize profits. “I back the statement of Minister Danail Papazov that it is possible. The stimulus that makes me think so is the fact that we increased freight services by 30% only in the last few months, and they continue increase by attracting new clients and holding new agreement talks,” he said further.
